HEALTH CARE PROVIDER
Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician (MD/DO)
Location(s): Melbourne, Malabar, Rockledge, Titusville, FL
Provides direct care to Brevard Health Alliance patients. Prescribes or administers treatment, medication, vaccinations, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury. Must have passion for working with the underserved population. Must have a clear and active Florida Medical License and Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) License. Board Certification in specialty is required. Current BLS for Healthcare Providers and/or PALS is required (ACLS a plus but not required). Must be proficient in Electronic Medical Records (EMR). At least 4 years of experience as a practicing physician or provider in a primary health care environment.

Consults with patients and co-manages the treatment of mental disorders and psychosocial issues. Responsible for initial patient contact, coordinating referrals, assessments and developing treatment plans. Must have passion for working with the underserved population. Minimum of 6 years of experience in Psychology, Psychiatry, or Mental Health services. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent collaboration skills required for community relationship building. Ability to design and implement protocols for treatment of selected chronic mental and behavioral conditions. Proficient in Electronic Medical Records (EMR). Must have a clear and active Florida License. Current BLS for Healthcare Providers and/or PALS is required.
Provides direct patient care, treatments and oral health education in the Dental department. Assesses dental condition and needs of patient using approved patient screening procedures, including medical history review, dental charting and periodontal charting. Must have passion for working with the underserved population. Must have clear and active Florida Dental License and DEA License. Board Certification required. Current BLS-C and/or PALS required. Must be proficient in Dental Practice Management software, preferably Dentrix. At least 3 years of experience as a practicing dental provider in a primary health care environment required.
Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (MA)
Location(s): Mobile Unit
Responsible for obtaining vital signs, basic laboratory skills, proper chart documentation, and administering vaccines when necessary. Discharges patients at end of visit. Medical Assistant Diploma AND Certification or Registration (NCCA Approved) with 2+ years of experience required. Current BLS for Healthcare Providers and/or PALS is required. Must be familiar with Electronic Medical Records (EMR). Centricity EMR experience a plus. Pediatric and vaccine administration experience a plus.
Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Location(s): Melbourne, Malabar, Rockledge, FL
Responsible for performing routine clinical tasks and triage for the examination and treatment of patients. Provides patients with the education and resources available for diagnosis and treatment. Must be a graduate from an approved School of Nursing with an Associate’s Degree. Clear and active RN or LPN License a must. At least 4 years nursing experience in a community health organization, medical office or clinical environment with 2 years recent experience in outpatient setting. Pediatric experience preferred. Current BLS for Healthcare Providers and/or PALS is required.

Coordinates BHA patient medication needs for all participating pharmaceutical company’ MAP programs and meets the varied application process requirements of those programs. Coordinates medication ordering, receipt, patient pick-up, storage and recall process for assigned clinic. Prepares varied MAP program reports through Med Data. Medical Assisting or Pharmacy Technician Diploma required. 2+ years’ experience as a Medical Assistant or Pharmacy Technician preferred. Must be proficient in utilization of electronic medical records (Centricity EMR preferred).
FRONT OFFICE SUPPORT
Patient Service Representative I
Location(s): Palm Bay, FL
Responsible for scheduling patients and assisting with the clerical duties related to medical records, reports and other documentation. Maintains patient flow by checking patients in and out in a timely manner. Collects payment and insurance information from patients. H.S Diploma or GED. Preferred Associate’s Degree in Healthcare or Healthcare Administration. At least 3 years’ experience in a medical office or community health center. Must have effective communication and organizational skills. Must have knowledge of basic medical terminology.
Patient Registration Counselor
Location(s): Malabar, FL
Responsible for the clerical duties related to documenting patient insurance information in the MISYS database. Responsible for verifying patient insurance information and for the basic intake processing of patients using income based documentation. Responsible for new patient registration and yearly requalification. Required to provide front desk assistance when needed. H.S Diploma or GED. Preferred Associate’s Degree in Healthcare or Healthcare Administration. At least 3 years’ experience in a medical office or community health center. Must have effective communication and organizational skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) required. Community healthcare experience a plus. Knowledge of community resources helpful.

Serves as a point of contact, advocate and informational resource for physicians, patient, family, and community partners/payers. Participates in community outreach. Collaborates with volunteer physician clinics for specialty referrals. Assists BHA uninsured patients with benefits assessment/eligibility, access to public benefits, application assistance and follow up. Bachelor’s Degree Required. Master’s preferred with emphasis in Social Work (5 years of clinical/social work/community outreach experience acceptable). Experience in behavioral health and/or case management required. Excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation skills. Understanding of physician office routines and community resources. Ability to work independently, and exercise sound judgment in interactions with physicians, payers, patients and their families.
Certified Dental Assistant (CDA)
Location(s): Melbourne, FL
Instructs patients and their family members on general oral health care and/or related post-treatment care information. Assists with additional dental services, including but not limited to pediatric care, oral surgery, and general restorative procedures. Prepares patient, sterilize or disinfect instruments, sets up instrument trays, prepares materials for visit. Assists with discharging patients at the end of the visit. Successful completion of an accredited dental assisting program. Expanded Functions Dental Assistant Certification with minimum 2 years current experience. Radiation Safety coursework and X-Ray Certification. Current CPR/BLS Certification. Extensive knowledge of Dental terminology. Knowledgeable in Dentrix software or Dental Practice Management Software.

Manages and coordinates the daily activities of dental support staff. Responsible for assigning and regulating the functions of the dental office staff. Delegates responsibilities across the team, evaluating, supervising, and ensuring that all staff members are working together effectively. Required to provide backup dental assistance if necessary. Manage dentist schedule in Dentrix through proper scheduling techniques. Successful completion of an accredited dental assisting program. Expanded Functions Dental Assistant Certification with minimum 2 years current experience. Supervisory experience a must. Knowledge of Dental terminology. Knowledgeable in Dentrix software or Dental Practice Management Software. Experience in triaging patients via phone and setting up appropriate appointments. Billing Office Specialist

Responsible for all posting functions from insurance companies and private payments for both medical and dental claims. Determines reasons for payment denials from insurance companies and submits corrected claims and/or appeals. Determines patient insurance eligibility and accurately enter insurance information into the Practice Management System (PMS). Provides assistance to Patient Service Representatives in determining insurance coverage, correcting charge entry errors, determining insurance eligibility for patients and with documentation in PMS. Performs all functions for batching and sending insurance claims electronically. Must have High School Diploma or General Equivalency/Educational Diploma (GED) with 5 years of experience in direct medical and/or dental physician billing.
ED Patient Navigator
Location(s): Titusville, Palm Bay FL
Identifies patients with chronic diseases in the hospital emergency rooms and schedules appointments with the appropriate BHA clinic and provider. Responsible for utilizing the EMR system to determine a patient’s eligibility for services. Coordinates appointments with providers to ensure timely delivery of diagnostic and treatment services. Collects and tracks data for identifying trends in patient visits. Provides support and guidance to patients including but not limited to: arranging language translation or interpretation services, conducting one-on-one and group health education sessions, linking patients to community resources for transportation and other health and human service programs. Assists Case Managers as needed. High School Diploma or General Equivalency/Educational Diploma (GED) required. Associates degree in Health Care or Health Care Administration preferred. Note: Candidates selected for this position will be working at Holmes Regional Medical Center and Parrish Medical Center.

Provides general maintenance support to all Brevard Health Alliance facilities, including not limited to general repair of machinery, painting, carpentry, repair, remodeling and furniture organization. Ensures all occupational hazards are fixed or reported to the appropriate staff member. Alongside current maintenance staff performs preventive maintenance of building equipment. Assists in directing external contractors for significant repairs. Minimum 4 years’ experience in building or property maintenance. Ability to use or operate a variety of hand tools, building equipment, machinery, and/or experience with very basic plumbing and mechanical repair. Valid Florida Driver’s License. Traveling required.
