Medical Assistant (MA) – Location(s): Barton Commons Clinic

Responsibilities
- Performing routine administrative and patient care supportive duties to assist the medical/nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients
- Obtaining vital signs, basic laboratory skills, proper chart documentation, and good patient service and communication skills
- Discharging patients at end of visit
Requirements
- Medical Assistant Certification or Registration (AAMA or AMT) required with 2+ years experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate required
- Must be familiar with Electronic Medical Records (EMR). Centricity experience a plus
- Must hold current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate

Requirements
- Graduate from an approved School of Nursing with a Bachelor’s Degree
- Current RN or LPN License
- At least 4 years nursing experience in a community health organization, medical office or clinical environment with two (2) years recent experience in outpatient/ambulatory care setting
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) provider.
- Pediatric medical experience.

Responsibilities
- Assisting patients during their appointments.
- Scheduling patients and assisting with the clerical duties related to medical records, reports and other documentation.
- Maintaining patient flow by checking patients in and out in a timely manner.
- Collecting payment and insurance information from patients while ensuring all information obtained from the patient is accurate.
Requirements
- At least 3 years experience in a medical office or community health center
- H.S Diploma or GED. Preferred Associate’s or Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare or Healthcare Administration

Responsibilities
- Assisting patients during their appointments.
- Registering patients and verifying patient insurance information and for the basic intake processing of patients using income based documentation.
- Documenting patient insurance information in the MISYS database
- Communicating the cost of services to patients, if applicable.
- Performing tasks including check in and check out, answering phones and front desk duties when needed.
Requirements
- At least 3 years experience in a medical office or community health center
- Associate’s Degree or in Healthcare or Healthcare Administration. Bachelor's Degree preferred

- Ensure ongoing tracking and appropriate documentation on Medicaid/Florida KidCare applications.
- Assist families with Florida KidCare enrollment and re-enrollment.
- Educating the public on the availability of Florida KidCare and health resources.
- Assist patients in problem solving and addressing potential issues related to the health care system, financial or social barriers.
Requirements
- H.S. Diploma or GED and at least 2 years experience in a medical office or community health center.
- Extended knowledge of Florida KidCare and Medicaid services and resources.
- Health insurance knowledge preferred.
- Communication, organizational and analytical skills. Customer service experience. Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
- Ability to use or operate computer, copy machine, typewriter, and fax machine.
- Proficient in use of EMR, MISYS, Microsoft Applications, Scanning, Internet Authorization Sites, E-mail and other hospital systems.

- Data entry of all invoices into the finance system and matching of packing slips to invoices
- Entry level Accounts Payable & Payroll
- Asset Management & Inventory Reconciliation
- Assistance with month end closing procedures
- Review and reconciliation of monthly expenses
- Prepare audit schedules, lead schedules and create reports as directed by the Accounting Manager
- Minimum of 2 years experience or education in accounting, finance or business
- Proficient in the financial operations of Community Health Centers a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for Accounting/Finance
- Automated office and PC experience required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Capacity to analyze issues to resolve problems in an efficient manner
