At Brevard Health Alliance, we care deeply about our community and recognize that the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has impacted us all. This is an unprecedented time which often leads to uncertainty.

We want to assure each of you of our commitment and dedication to continue serving this community and providing high quality care to you, our patients.

BHA continues to monitor the threat of COVID-19 through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Florida Department of Health and all communications from the President of the United States, his cabinet and Congress.

WHAT WE ARE DOING

BHA has implemented telehealth and phone call visits for some of our services to better serve our patients in the safest way possible. Accessing these services is simple, please click here for more information.

BHA has implemented screening locations at every clinic for every patient and visitor. Be on the lookout for signs at the clinic(s) to direct you to those screening locations. This effort is to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, and is for your safety and protection, as well as everyone receiving care in our clinics. Please see a BHA team member upon arrival and be aware that this may lead to prolonged wait times. We are following the Florida Department of Health guidelines to screen incoming individuals.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

  1. During the current state of national emergency due to the COVID-19 pandemic, no guest or visitors will be permitted into our clinic(s) unless medical surrogate. For pediatrics, one adult will be permitted with the patient. Each visitor (patient and non-patient) will be screened upon entry to limit potential exposure.
  2. BHA highly encourages you to sign up for the patient portal, and download the Healow app at your favorite app store. BHA is committed to better serve and communicate with our patients, and the patient portal is an extremely valuable tool in doing so. Please ask any BHA team member for assistance upon your visit, click here or copy this link https://mycw123.ecwcloud.com/portal17082/jsp/100mp/login_otp.jsp , or call 321-241-6800 for help in signing up!
  3. Watch for symptoms, noting that the following symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure and contact the Health Department or copy this link http://www.floridahealth.gov/ for instructions.
    • Fever of greater than 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit
    • Cough
    • Shortness of breath
  4. If you develop emergency warning signs for COVID-19, get emergency medical attention immediately. Emergency warning signs include (This list is not all inclusive – Please consult your medical provider for any other symptoms that are severe or concerning):
    • Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
    • Persistent pain or pressure in the chest
    • New confusion or inability to arouse
    • Bluish lips or face

The CDC recommends simple actions to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, including:

  • Call before you go: Call your healthcare provider or County Health Department if you have a fever, cough or shortness of breath and returned from international travel or a cruise in the last 14 days.
  • Wash for 20 seconds: Wash hands often with soap and water for 20 seconds or longer (or use alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol).
  • Avoid touching your face: Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands or after touching surfaces.
  • Practice social distancing: If you are around other people, keep 6 feet between you when possible. Avoid hugs, handshakes, large gatherings and close quarters.
